The Pathways to Wellness African American Technical Assistance (AATA) Program provides training and resources to health care providers and the community in order to improve the mental health of African American clients.
A team of qualified trainers will deliver workshops to enhance the accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment of mental health conditions in the African American community.
Learning objectives will include recognizing racial bias and the impact on diagnostic and treatment decisions for African Americans across the age span, identifying the role of culture in symptom presentation, expression, and alternative healing practices, and addressing different medication prescription for African Americans across the age span.
AATA aims to share a variety of learning styles and techniques to assist in expanding your knowledge of these subject matters.
