I recognize the reluctance among Black people to seek therapy and the idea that having mental health issues is a sign of weakness. I'm here to fill the void and advocate for the value of counseling, though. By sharing my own story, I hope to motivate and empower others to start the process of getting mental health treatment. The most important problems in our community are finding a therapist who can relate to our particular experiences and looks like us, as well as removing financial obstacles. I am devoted to bridging these gaps and supporting those who are silent or ashamed about their battles with mental health.
